Q1. I run a small/medium size business and want an online presence
to promote my business in a professional manner to new customers
and to provide a more professional image to existing customers.
What do I need to do this?
A1. You need a professionally developed website, a domain name,
and hosting facilities for your website. You also need the website
to be uploaded onto your hosting facilities. We would also strongly
advise at least a basic amount of Search Engine Optimisation.
Q2. How much do you charge for the above in total including all
miscellaneous costs like setup fees for the first year?
A2. We charge a one off payment of £249. Alternatively, if
you prefer to pay by installments, it is £49.97 plus 11 monthly
payments of £19.99 which equals £269.86. At todays prices
each subsequent year costs £99 or 12 monthly payments of £9.99.
Q3. Will the work on my website be carried out to a guaranteed
standard?
A3. Yes, we will show you the draft version of the home page and
then make whatever changes you like to ensure the website meets
your requirements. At that stage, in the very unlikely event that
you are not satisfied we will withdraw our services and it will
not cost you anything. Then we'll complete the rest of the draft
version of the website. We'll then make any changes that you require.
We'll even make more changes within reason to the final version
as your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us.
Q4. Will the work be carried out by a fully qualified professional?
A4. Yes, the work will be carried out by someone with at least
an Honors Degree in a computing discipline. Each website will also
be developed by one person from start to finish and so there is
no possibility of misunderstandings that can happen when a project
is passed around various people.
Q5. I run a small/medium size business and want to sell my services
or products online. I don't have any existing website. What do I
need?
A5. You need a professionally developed storefront, a domain name,
and hosting facilities for your storefront. You also need the storefront
to be uploaded onto your hosting facilities. You would also need
a method of payment processing and an Internet Merchant Account,
which we will advise you on free of charge as in our opinion, these
are best obtained from WorldPay part of The Royal Bank of Scotland.
Q6. I intend to have less than 260 products in my store, how much
do you charge for the above(excluding WorldPay services) in total
including all miscellaneous costs like setup fees, domain name,
admin, etc for the first year?
A6. We charge a one off payment of £357.99. Alternatively,
if you prefer to pay by installments, it is £98.97 plus 11
monthly payments of £28.97 which equals £417.65. At
todays prices each subsequent years hosting costs £139 or
12 monthly payments of £13.99.
Q7. Will the work on my e-commerce store be carried out to a guaranteed
standard?
A7. Yes, we are so confident in our product that if your not satisfied
with your e-commerce store then we will keep it and we will not
charge you a penny for it?
Q8. After I state I'm satisfied with the Store and start trading, can
I then return the store and get my money back if my sales are less than
I hoped for?
A8. No, we guarantee you will be satisfied with our store or you
don't have to accept it, but we have no idea how your sales figures
will go. That will depend on various circumstances outside of our
control including the quality and price of your products and services
and upon your marketing strategy and of course on the level of demand.
Q9. I run a small/medium sized business in the UK and I have a website
in connection with my business. Does the Disability Discrimination Act
apply to my website?
A9. Yes.
Q10. What does the Disability Discrimination Act actually state?
A10. If you have a website, it has to be accessible and you have
to make 'reasonable adjustments' to make it accessible if it isn't.
Q11. What are the recognised guidelines for judging whether a website
is accessible?
A11. The WorldWide Web Consortium has set up the Web Accessibility
Initiative. This group has issued the Web Content Accessibility
Guidelines. They have issued 14 guidelines and these are internationally
accepted. The USA has its own section 508 Law on website accessibility
which doesn't vary much from the WCAG guidelines.
Q12. Can you make my website accessible?
A12 Yes, we can make your website accessible and add the WCAG 'A' Standard logo to each page, as well as give you a written report of the "reasonable adjustments"
you have paid for.
